• check to see if the boiler is producing carbon monoxide
• check the gas pressure
• make sure there is proper ventilation
• check the pumps and valves
• And be sure that the flue is clean and clear and safe.

The engineer should also make sure that the boiler is in a safe place. Things that have occurred since the last inspection could have a negative impact on overall safety, such as things that are blocking the flue or the ventilation of the boiler.

An older cast iron boiler will require lots of cleaning, which the modern boilers do not require much cleaning.

How long will a Boiler Service Take?

Having your boiler serviced may take anywhere from thirty minutes to well over an hour. This depends on how much work is involved, and whether or not the boiler is in good condition.
